Progression Pathway

MSc in Education Leadership & Management

Top up your apprenticeship to an MSc in Education Leadership and Management. Like the apprenticeship, this is a taught modular extension pathway and will take a minimum of 12 months to complete. Entry points into this programme are likely to be the January, April and September of each year following the completion of the apprenticeship and 120 credits.

Three 20 credit taught modules:

  • Issues of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Excellence
  • System Leadership in Education
  • Contemporary Education Policy Debates

2 x 3,500 word essays (1 x Module 1, 1 x Module 3,)
1 x 2,000 word essay + 1 x 1,500 word presentation (Module 2)

Progression Pathway

MBA

This immersive dissertation style 9-month top-up programme enables students that have completed the Senior Leader Apprenticeship to progress to the MBA in Educational Leadership or Strategic Leadership. Students develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of a particular area of interest in the context of educational leadership research building upon the study they have already completed. Entry points into this programme will be the January and September of each year following the completion of the apprenticeship.

Module 1: 20 credits

  • Research methodologies, paradigms and topic choice

Module 2: 40 credits

  • 12,000 - 15,000 word dissertation on topic chosen in Module 1

  • Business Research Methods
  • Sustainable Business Strategy
  • Applied Research Project

2 x 3,500 word essays (2 modules)
1 x 6,000 word report (Final research module)
